Meet the Author: Kindra Westercamp
Kindra Westercamp is a mother to two little girls. She also is employed as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Charleston, SC. More than twenty years ago, on the first day of her PhD program, she introduced herself to her fellow graduate school cohort by stating a personal dream of hers. This dream was to write a children’s picture book.Unfortunately, this dream was placed on hold for many years. However, after years of battling neuroendocrine cancer, on January 1st, 2023 she said out loud to herself, “I am not waiting another moment! I’ll start writing this book today.” And since that day, this passion project has slowly but surely come to fruition.
Kindra is passionate about introducing her two little girls to a wide range of books, including many she actually held as a child. She enjoys reading books to her children that teach important values, but in such a way that is creative, fun, entertaining, sprinkled with humor, and that demonstrates the importance of family.
Kindra wants to create books that inspire our children- the future generation- to lead with kindness always. Her work as a therapist has truly highlighted for her how much healing can occur when we treat one another with genuine positive regard, respect, and grace. She wholeheartedly believes this world would be an exponentially brighter place if certain values and lessons were instilled at a young age.
She hopes to bring your family characters and stories that prompt important conversations, but also giggles and joy.
